


Ina A. Colen Academy is a tuition-free public charter school of choice located in the Calesa Community in Marion County, Florida. IACA serves students in Kindergarten through grade eight.
ACCEPTING STUDENTS
Ina A. Colen Academy is now accepting student applications for the 2023-24 school year for students eligible to attend Kindergarten through grade seven in Marion County in accordance with the Marion County Public Schools Student Progression Plan. Important Dates:
- Lottery Window Opens: 8 am, November 18, 2022
- Lottery Window Closes: 3 pm, January 31, 2023
- Announcement of Lottery Selection will be: Monday, February 6, 2023
- Current IACA students will receive their letter of Intent to return on January 9th and must return it by January 16th, 2023.
The 2023-24 lottery has been selected. Please check your email for enrollment status and next steps. Enrollment is currently closed for any further student registration. Enrollment for our wait-list will open after all accepted students complete their applications in full.
THE FIRST THREE YEARS
The registration window for the 2023-2024 school year, adding 7th grade, opens November 18th, 2022 and closes January 31st, 2023. The registration windows for the 2024-2025 school year, adding 8th grade, opens November 2023 and closes January 2024.

During the application process, IACA may request demographic information from applicants, but responses to these inquiries must be voluntary. Copies of applications and registration forms will be made available in English and Spanish. Interpretation of the applications and registration forms into other native languages will be provided upon request.

Each school year, the total capacity and total enrollment of the school will be posted on the website. Seats will be made available based on the Enrollment Policy and Florida law.
